Your wedding band is a ring you'll wear every day, so it's worth taking time to find one that feels right. The first thing to decide is what kind of band you want: one that matches your engagement ring, one that matches your partner's, or something completely your own.

Matching Your Engagement Ring

We'd love to help you find the perfect band, whether your engagement ring is an Evorden ring or not. If you're local, the best option is to visit our showroom and try bands on with your ring, seeing how they sit together makes a big difference.

A few things that affect the pairing:

• Profile - Some rings pair easily with a straight band; others need a curved band to fit without a gap.

• Metal - Many people match their band metal to their ring, though mixing metals is also a popular choice.

• Width - A band that's too wide can overwhelm a delicate ring, while a thin band may get lost next to a bold one.

Matching Your Partner's Band

Matching your band to your partner's is a romantic tradition. Most of our classic bands come in different widths, so you can match while still picking a style that suits the both of you. Our flat edge bands are a good example: a "his" and a "hers," one thicker and one thinner.

If you want a subtler connection, you can coordinate in smaller ways, the same metal, finish, or a shared engraving.

Things to Consider

Practicality. If you work with your hands or stay active, a tougher metal may be better. 18k gold is softer than 14k gold or platinum, so it scratches more easily. With a little care, though, any metal can stay beautiful for decades. See our Metal Guide for more.

Comfort. Many bands come in a "comfort fit," with a rounded inside edge that slides on easily and feels smoother. It is worth considering if you've never worn a ring daily.

Engraving. For a personal touch, we offer engraving on most rings: your wedding date, an inside joke, a love note. If it's available, you'll see it in the drop-down options on the listing.

Timing. Custom designs, resizing, and engraving all take time, so we recommend starting at least 6 weeks before to finalize what you want your wedding band to look like.
